Cambodia and Hungary Strengthen Bilateral Ties Amid Global Challenges

Phnom Penh: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sok Chenda Sophea met with Hungarian Ambassador Dr. Tibor Baloghdi on Tuesday for a courtesy call. Both officials emphasized the enduring strength of Cambodia-Hungary relations despite recent global and regional challenges.

The meeting underscored the mutual satisfaction with the strengthened bilateral relations between Cambodia and Hungary, showcasing resilience and growth despite prevailing regional and global challenges. This robust relationship is highlighted by frequent high-level exchanges, productive interactions through established bilateral mechanisms like the Joint Economic Committee and Bilateral Consultations, and mutual support on the international stage.

During the discussion, the Deputy Prime Minister lauded Hungary for its upcoming role as the President of the European Union in the latter half of 2024. He expressed appreciation for Hungary's consistent support in fostering enhanced cooperation between Cambodia and the European Union across various sectors.

Both the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ambassador reiterated their dedication to preserving the strong ties and mutual support on the global platform, reflecting a shared commitment to furthering their countries' interests and cooperation.
